Osun United on Saturday defeated Dynamite Force football club of Iyamo by a lone goal to maintain the 100% home victory in the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL).
The solitary goal of the encounter was scored by Victor Okeji who sent Dynamite Force goalkeeper, Treasure Udoh to a wrong angle in the 16th minute after Ogwu Peace roughly blocked a goal-bound shot by Hammed Rasheed with his hand.
The bumper to bumper encounter was dominated by the home side who were led in the attack by the former 3sc forward Rasheed, whose combination with Dennis Meshark forced their opponents to play behind the ball till the first half lasted.
However, a mercurial Dynamite midfielder, Henry Noedi's long passes to Edikan Johnson added a bite to their attack upfront in the second half but their attempts were denied by in-form Osun United shotstopper, Arinze Okoro.
Osun United nearly doubled the lead in the 83rd minute when Akeem Olalere's fine header hit the lower ebb of the goalpost while all efforts by Dynamite Force to restore parity proved abortive.
The result means Osun United are now back in the second position on the log with 9 points out of the possible 12 while Dynamite Force dropped to third with 6 points.
The Omoluabi Giants will be guests to Ibom Youth in Ikot Ekpene while Dynamite Force will welcome FC Nilayo of Abeokuta to Iyamo in the week 5 fixtures holding next weekend before the league goes on Christmas and New Year Break.
